Hello,
time for a new fishing report. We have had enough rain to keep the water
up, but not enough to make it muddy for the last couple of weeks. The
small streams are in great shape. There are green drakes, yellow and black
stones, yellow mayflies and craneflies hatching on the small streams.
Wilbur Dam, which controls the Watauga, has started
its summer recreational releases. They usually start the water release
around 12 to 1pm. This makes the float trip one of the best trips to do
at this time of year. There are caddis, mayflies, craneflies and midges
on the Watauga.
The sulphurs have been great on the South Holston.
We have caught some nice browns rising to them in the past few weeks.
I have been very busy and would like to thank everyone
who has been up to fish with me so far this year. Some of you have been
up several times. The fishing is great and should stay that way well into
the summer. We still have dates open and can take from one to twenty folks
out a day, with a little notice. Call or email me to book your trip.
