April fly fishing report for Watauga and South Holston rivers

Hello, time to bring everyone up to date on the fishing here in East Tennessee. We have had a very wet spring so far. The fishing has been great on both The South Holston and the Watauga when you can catch the generators off.

The caddis are heavy on the Watauga. They are tan and brown sizes 14 to 12. There are also a few mayflies BWO's size 18-20. blue quills size 16-18 and a few tan mayflies size 14. The best chance to catch the water off is on the weekend right now.

The South Holston has also been good with BWO's size 18-20, a few blue quills and some midges. You may also see the first of this years sulphurs on the Holston.

The small streams have plenty of water and there are mayflies and caddis hatching on them as well. Brown and tan colored patterns will match the bugs there.

I have dates still in May and June so call or email me and book your trip today. Here are a few pictures to show you what we have been up to. Book your trip with us, and see what great fishing East Tennessee has to offer.
